2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee - Great on the Road and Off
It's very difficult to find a genuine off-road capable SUV these days. Most of the large SUVs are advertised as off-road ready, but the truth is, they won't be able to handle anything more than a small patch of mud. True off-road capable SUVs are few and far between, but the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of them. Off-road capabilities aren't the Jeep's only party trick however. With a wide array of engine choices, luxurious interior and sophisticated, comfortable suspension, it makes for a great daily driver.

2017Jeep Grand Cherokee Styling & Interior Features
The Grand Cherokee may not be the prettiest SUV, but it's one of the most robust, and that clearly shows in its exterior appearance. This is an SUV that means business, and it looks like it. The no- nonsense front features aggressive-looking headlights, a large grille and a tall hood giving commanding road presence. From front to back, this is a truck that's hard not to stare at on the road. From the short overhangs made for steep ascents and descents, to the big tires providing grip, this is a purposeful-looking SUV. The interior is a complete surprise for most people. It's a genuine rival to SUVs twice its price, and that's a compliment not many vehicles get.

2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Specs
The standard engine is the robust and reliable Pentastar™ 3.6-liter V6 that produces 295 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. It's fitted to an eight-speed automatic which is precise and fast. The other gasoline option is a large 5.7-liter HEMI® V8 with 360 horsepower, but the real winner in our book is the 3-liter turbocharged diesel V6. It may be the least powerful with 240 horsepower, but it produces 420 lb.-ft. of torque. Mated to the sleek eight-speed transmission, it's a real monster, pulling in any gear at any revs. Like we said, this is an SUV with off-roading credentials, so you should have no worries taking it out on a little off-roading adventure. Road manners depend on the trim level you go for. The SRT is a monster on the road, capable of overtaking just about anything. Likewise, go for the Summit and you've got one of the most off-road-capable SUVs.
